Band Bio

Me and This Other Guy (MATOG) was established in 1998 when Scott Lint and Mike Miller started playing music together at the old Northside Grille in Akron, Ohio. Since then, they’ve played bars, coffee houses, wineries, fundraisers, and private parties, including a wedding and reception on the docks at the former Viking Vineyard in Kent, Ohio. One of many special requests performed was “Comfortably Numb” for a party of anesthesiologists!

Scott, a Mechanical Engineer, is employed as a service engineer and trainer. As half of the MATOG duo, he sings and plays acoustic guitar, bass, and harmonica. Scott’s children are professional musicians and occasionally sit in with the band.

Mike, an Electrical Engineer, is employed as an application engineer in the field of automation. In MATOG he plays acoustic guitar and bass, as well as providing vocals. Mike founded, and continues to mentor, local teen musicians in Legacy, a Christian music ministry at his church. Legacy performs at worship services, festivals, and retreats.

Me and This Other Guy frequently invite guest musicians to expand their repertoire. Mike and Scott appreciate the synergy of the additional vocals, percussion, and other instruments. Shout out to Jon Shannon (percussion), Cori Lint (cello, vocals), and Allison Lint (violin, vocals), as well as vocalists Carol Cain, Bronwyn Craven, Cynthia Preston, and Laura Tonsic!
